BIO INFORMATION
In Steel City Trigga was the first Sharp M.C PERIOD! from back in da day!
Born on the 18th day of April 1972 to Annette Williams and Edward Fontaine, Gerard Fontaine took his first breath at a hospital in Rousseau, Dominica which is in the Caribbean and part of the
Windward Islands. For the first five years of his life, he resided in Mt. Prospect, just a short distance from Rousseau and about 50 feet Uphill from the sea. In 1977 his mother brought him to Hamilton
Ontario Canada to find a better life, he never moved out of the city since his arrival. Growing up he always had an interest in the Arts, visually, poetically and finally musically. He started rapping and producing at the age of 15 and paid his dues throughout the years doing shows in and around Hamilton and Toronto.
His biggest achievement in music came in 1995 with a debut spot on a single titled "Do you like my flow?" With a crew titled - "Bally Hoo" for Bally Hoo North records. A time when he and TRX manifest hit after hit. Recording 24/7 Underground Hip Hop classics.
He's also opened up for Public Enemy, Leaders of the new school, and Fu Schnickens.
July 20th. 2000 marked a turning point in his life. Injured by a gunshot, which left him incompletely paralyzed below the waist. This and many other experiences have now armed him with a new understanding of the fragility of human life, and how important it is to always speak the truth lyrically.
He hopes to inspire young people to seek a more positive means of attaining their goals and dreams, and hopes that by vocalizing what he has learned from the streets may save them from making the same
Mistakes. He also would like to point out the importance of family love, being a father of three beautiful children taught him the art of thinking responsibly and maturely when dealing with everyday crisis.
He feels that he can relate to the hardships faced by people in today’s harsh world and if he can touch just one person with his music, he is happy.
He's been inspired by acts such as Boogie
